Indian rupee is the 16th acceptable currency in Dubai

According to a report in the Gulf News, the Indian currency (₹) is now acceptable at all three terminals of the Dubai International Airport and at Al Maktoum Airport which is a very good news for tourists visiting and go across through Dubai. Out of the nearly 90 million passengers passed through Dubai airports last year, 12.2 million were Indians itself. Indian travellers had to earlier convert the rupee into the Dollar, Dirham or Euro before they could shop at Dubai’s duty-free shops. The Indian rupee is the 16th currency to be accepted for transaction in Dubai since its opening in December 1983.

  • The Indian rupee appreciated this week by 0.60 paisa gain compared with the previous week close.
  • Last week Indian rupee closed at ₹69.02 with an aggregate gain of 0.53 paisa.
  • This week on Friday Rupee closed at ₹68.42 with gain of 0.08 paisa against the US dollar.
  • Rupee highest gain 0.41 paisa on Thursday and No losses for the week.
